Zusammenfassung: | 19,116. Taylor, J. A. Aug. 27. Track apparatus actuating signals on trains and for stopping trains.-The whistle valve, brake valve, and throttle valve are operated when a train passes a ramp at danger, and the whistle is again operated as the engine contact returns to normal, as when a ramp is lowered to clear position while the train contact is over it. The train contact member is a roller D supported on links O so as to be transversely adjustable on a square spindle carrying a cam S, which raises a pivoted spring-pressed member E connected by rods to rods G carrying lugs H, I, J actuating the several valves. The lever V controlling the whistle valve is arranged so as to open the valve on movement of the lug I in either direction. In place of mechanical transmission, as shown, the cam S may actuate a steam valve controlling a cylinder operating the rods G. The ramp C is carried on cranked links T. |
