10,670. Cornell, A., and Davidson, F. N. April 30. Microscopes.-Two microscope systems are mounted in tandem so that one magnifies the aerial image produced by the other. This is effected, as shown by Fig. 1, by fitting the substage of an ordinary microscope with a tube E carrying an eyepiece system E at its upper end and an objectglass E at the lower end. Fig. 2 shows the optical system and its action. By removing the object-glass and reversing the tube E end for end in the substage fitting, the arrangement described in Specification 13,251/12 may be realized.
