Zusammenfassung:7314. Joslin, W. H. March 23. Braiding-machines.-Relates to improvements in bobbin-carriers whereby an increased speed of working the machine is permitted. The tension weight hangs in a double loop of thread, which passes from the spool 13 round or through an eye 25 in the weight, and an eye 18 in the standard 16, round a bar 31 at the rear of the weight, and through an eye 17 at the top of the standard. It is a feature of the invention to place the eye 25 as low down in the front wall of the tension weight as is consistent with the provision of a sufficiently large slotted opening 24 for the tension weight to be passed over the top end 20 of the standard. The front wall has also an upwardlyextending lip 26 with a roughened inner edge 27 which engages the outer surface 28 of the latch 21, when raised, and prevents the front end of the latch from tipping and also assists the latch to return promptly into engagement with the spool and thus prevent undue slack from unwinding therefrom. A lip 36, extending downwards from the rear lower edge of the latch and also engaged by the weight as it ascends, assists in preventing both the latch and the weight from binding on the standard.
