Zusammenfassung:6963. King, A. W. March 19. Springs, arrangement of ; push - bars. - In a baby carriage of the kind in which the wheels are adapted to be drawn up when the vehicle is to be carried or used as a chair, the mechanism is locked with the wheels in position for use by spring pawls i adapted to be released by pulling a cord k' at the back of the carriage. The wheel axle is carried by the curved resilient lower ends of two rods a of which the straight upper portions slide in guides b fixed to the sides of the carriage body. Each side of the U-shaped handle f is slidably mounted in a sleeve e carrying an arm d which is pivoted at one end to the carriage body at c', and near the other end engages a sleeve g fcrmed nn a collar h adjustably fixed to the corresponding rod a, so that by pulling the handle to the rear, from the position shown in Fig. 1, the wheels are lowered. The frea end of each arm d is engaged by upper or lower teeth on the corresponding pawl i according as it is desired to maintain the carriage inclined or upright when it is being wheeled. Each pawl i is connected by a cord k to the releasing cord k .
