Wet processes of extracting metals; sulphatizing.-Silica is precipitated from solutions obtained by leaching metallic ores with acids by adding a small quantity of hydrofluosilicic acid or a fluosilicate or of hydrofluoric acid or a mineral acid and a fluoride. In an example the solution obtained by leaching calcined zinc sulphide with dilute sulphuric acid is treated with sodium fluosilicate and heated to 90‹ C.
