Zusammenfassung:24,345. Scott, D., and Hindle, T. T. Oct. 27. Printing processes; inking-apparatus.-In applying colour, ink, or the like to printing- machines, especially to rotary lithographic multi-colour fabric-printing machines having a number of independent sets of ink ducts and inking-rollers, the printing-surface is first inked with a fluid ink, and subsequently with a stiffer ink. This has the effect of removing surplus ink from the finer portions of the designs while also obtaining the necessary consistency of ink on the printing-surface to produce satisfactory impressions. In the example shown the printing-cylinder B, after damping by roller C , is inked with a somewhat fluid or soft ink by the rollers D , D , supplied from a duct D, and with a stiffer ink by rollers E , E supplied from a duct E. More than two ducts may be used, and the ducts may be divided each to supply several different inks to produce a greater variety of effects.
