Slipping of wheels, preventing.-A non-skid device for motor-vehicles comprises a roller a pressed against the ground by a spring and adapted to turn in the direction of the skid so as to resist the skid by rolling friction. The roller is grooved, and is mounted in a yoke e capable of turning, preferably on ball bearings, about a rod g passing through a cylinder h secured to the vehicle. The cylinder h encloses a spring which acts upon a cylindrical block on the rod g. The upper end of the rod is connected by a chain to the driver's seat to enable the roller to be raised clear of the road.
