Zusammenfassung: | 20,365. Bolam, T. H., Bernard, S. N., and Newman, A. S. Sept. 9. Kinematograph apparatus.-In apparatus of the kind in which the pictures are arranged in a helical series on a cylinder of flexible film which is fed by sprockets l intermittently rotated around and moved along a stationary shaft i, a lever d is pivoted on the laterally-moving carriage k and operated by a rotating cam c to give, through a pawl and ratchet, an intermittent rotary motion to the sleeve l carrying the sprockets l ; the sleeve l is mounted upon a screw i and is provided with a spring or spring-operated part entering the screwthread, so that the sleeve is moved axially as it is rotated ; the spring or spring-operated part allows the sleeve l to be drawn back to starting position. A part of the carriage k enters a groove in the sleeve l so that the carriage moves laterally with the sleeve ; the screw i is mounted so that it may be rotated by hand to adjust the sleeve l for film-centring. The objective lens carrier h is mounted on an horizontal shaft about which it may be rocked to allow of insertion of the film, a spring arm to lock it in the closed position and stops to limit its movement being provided ; a skew gear-wh el c on an horizontal shaft drives a similar gear on the shutter shaft f carried by the objective lens carrier h; the cam c is cut away at one end so that when the series of pictures is completed the sleeve l will not be rotited. An adjustable lamp carrier is provided consisting of an outer tute n, an intermediate tube n fitting therein, and an inner tube o carrying the lamp m, the intermediate tube n having an inner ring n or two fixed points in one plane, a spring pin n in its interior in another plane and diametrically opposed to the fixed pins or the operative part of the ring n , and two adjusting-screws n projecting through the intermediate tube n and bearing on the inner tube o. |
