Zusammenfassung: | 17,518. Conzelmann, J. Boss-. July 30, 1912, [Convention date]. Adding - apparatus.- In apparatus in which the digits of each denomination are separately summed, the total of such digits, or of the items, appearing in the apertures 4, Fig. 1, a special bank of denomination - selecting keys 21 is provided, the depression of one of which connects the corresponding receiving- wheel 7 with the appropriate wheel 9 which is driven directly by its actuating-key 11. This connexion is made through a wheel 10, attached to the wheel 9, and one of a number of wheels 13, which are moved along their shaft 12 by the keys 21 through levers 24. The depression of a key 21 also restores to normal position the previously-actuated lower key, and a common restoring-bar A is provided to restore the selecting-key of the highest denomination used. The actuating-keys 11 are normally held by latching- means 18, 19, Fig. 3, in positions in which their toothed stems are not in engagement with the wheels 9. The keys are pivotally mounted in sleeves or tubes 14 and on being depressed against their springs 17 and pushed in, the wheels 9 are actuated. The actuation of the denomination - selecting key restores the previously-depressed key 21 by means of a lever 30 and pin 32, and slides the next intermediatewheel 13 into position to gear with the wheels 10, 7. The restoring-bar A is guided by means of inclined slots so as to move parallel to itself on being withdrawn, during which movement it engages with the pin 32 on the selecting-key 21 of the highest denomination used. Transfer mechanism.-Pins 6, Fig. 1, on the numeral-drums 3, engage once in each revolution of the drums with transfer wheels 40, Fig. 3, which are connected by sleeves 43 with toothed wheels 42, engaging the rings of pins 5 carried by the next higher receiving-wheels 7. The drums 3 and wheels 7 of each denomination are rigidly connected to one another. |
