The pivots at 20, 21 are constructed as shown in Fig. 3, and comprise conical pins 10, 14, secured to the oscillating member 11 and adapted to engage recesses in the fixed member 13. The pin 10 engages a conical hole 12 while the pin 14 engages a V-groove 15, both the groove and pin lying along an axis A-A. In a modification adapted to pass a constant mass of gas in unit time, the weight 26 is replaced by a bell subject to the static pressure produced by a long vertical column of gas.
