Sashes balanced by weights; sash weights.- Relates to a method of balancing sliding sashes in which the ends of a sash-cord A, which passes under a pulley E on the counterweight and over the ordinary frame pulleys C, C', are attached to the upper and lower sashes respectively. According to the invention, the counterweight consists of two ordinary sash weights connected to the pulley E by means which may comprise a crossbar G carrying the pulley bracket G' and having depending from its ends bolts G , which pass through holes in the upper ends of the weights F and are connected to a second cross - bar G passing through apertures G . The cross-bar G may be formed at its ends with integral depending arms in place of the bolts G . |
