639. Brothers, W. M. Jan. 9. Calcium sulphate. -Plaster of paris is prepared by heating gypsum or other hydrated calcium sulphate under reduced pressure. The material may be enclosed in a steam-jacketed vessel connected through a condenser with a vacuum pump, and stirring-means may be provided.
