Cash registers actuating advertisements on operation.-Apparatus for displaying advertisements on the top of cash registers comprises a drum c, preferably prismatic, with a hood e' for concealing it during the change. The drum has a circular end plate c with internal ratchet teeth for engaging a pawl b carried by a lever b rocked by a link a from a moving part of the register. Projections c on the plate normally rest between an overthrowpreventing stop a on the link and a spring non-return pawl d. The hood e has a gapped end-plate to engage a pin f on a lever f rocked by a link g from a moving part of the register.
