Pendants; materials, special.-In chandeliers or lamp fittings made from lengths of wood or compressed fibrous substances, the lengths are hollowed-out and provided with a lining to prevent diffusion of gas, and in addition may be longitudinally grooved on the exterior, as shown in Fig. 4, in order that the chandelier &c. may be used with gas or electricity, or with both together. The lengths may be divided lengthways into halves, and then combined to form one tube after they have been provided with the necessary bores.
