Planes, construction of.-The main supporting-planes of flying-machines, formed with an opening laterally central thereof and provided with a keel as described in Specification 5282/12, are shaped in plan as a regular or symmetrical figure other than a circle. The shape may be oval, a regular polygon, or partly polygonal and partly curved as shown in Figs. 11 and 12. The plane is divided by the longitudinal centre line x and the parts are set at a dihedral angle, The opening has preferably the same outline as the plane and may be nearer to the rear edge of the plane than to the front edge. The leading edge parts d are turned downwards.
