According to the invention, the motor-armature M is connected in series in a main circuit with a dvnamo E, and the field windings of the motor and the dynamo are connected in series with a dynamo or battery R in a separate circuit containing a hunting switch A, B for controlling the excitation. One element B of the hunting switch is turned by hand, and the other element A, directly geared to the driven apparatus, hunts the first in the known manner until the required travel is obtained.
