Air passing through openings in the fire-door and the perforations a is heated in its passage between baffles B in the box, and is delivered to consume smoke and unburnt gases by the perforations a . The furnace door itself may form the front wall of the box. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 4684/80, 4930/96, and 25,103/05.
