[Addition to 29,286/09.] Copper and ferric chlorides, sulphates, and other salts.-Ferrous solutions such as those obtained by cementation of copper liquors are oxidized to the ferric state for further use in copper-extraction by treating the ferrous liquors alone in a pressure-vessel with air at a temperature over 100‹ C. and a corresponding pressure. Any insoluble basic salts that may be formed are redissolved after the digestion by addition of acid.
