Zusammenfassung:10,680. Moir, A. May 3. Automatic-feed weighers. - Relates to automatic - feed weighers of the kind in which a rotary compartmented drum is mounted on a weigh-beam and consists primarily in the provision of toggle mechanism for effecting the dribble feed and cut-off. Means for testing the machine are also provided. The drum has three compartments A , A , A , and is balanced by a weight b on one end of the weigh-beam B. Two cut-off gates d, d for major and dribble feeds are provided, each connected to a pair of toggle levers terminating in extensions e , e . As the drum sinks during the feed, a stud a' engages successively the extensions e , c , and by breaking'the toggle joints drops first the feed gate d and finally the feed gate d. The breaking of the second toggle joint causes the latter to knock back a lever G from a second stop similar to a and release the drum, which then rotates under the weight of its contents and discharges the material. The second compartment A is then brought under the feed shoot and at the same time one of a second series of studs on the drum strikes a pivoted lever and pushes back the feed gates and connexions into the feeding position shown in Fig. 1, the lever G also holding the drum as before. A pawl g on the lever G prevents rebounding of the drum. After the cut-off of the major feed but before the final cut-off, a weighted lever h previously pressing on the weigh-beam is received during the descent of the drum. upon a stop C on an upright C. The upright C has a recess c for limiting the oscillations of the beam. To enable the apparatus to be tested, the end g of the lever G is pivoted and is turned back during the testing operation. The upright C may also be turned aside about a pivot c . A number of the machines are arranged to operate in unison.
