Zusammenfassung: | 9037. Creswick, W., and Bentham, J. April 11. Boxes; switch mechanism interlocking with lids.-In a switch and fuse box, particularly adapted for use in collieries, a bolt 8 connected to the switch mechanism slides over the lid 15 of the fuse compartment 2 when the switch is closed, so that the fuse compartment can only be opened when the switch is open. The terminals for the cables are mounted in a separate compartment 3 provided with a lid 16 which is prevented from opening when the fuse compartment is closed by a projection 23 on the lid of the fuse compartment. The lids 15, 16 are provided with flanges 17, 18 which make a tight joint when the lids are closed. The hinges 19 of the lids are mounted on pins 20 which are capable of limited sliding movement in lugs 21 on the box. The conductors in adjoining compartments are connected together by means of bolts 24 which are insulated from the walls 25 by means of washers 26 which are tightened into position by the bolts. On the lid of the switch compartment is provided a lock 12 having a mitre bolt which engages recesses in the sliding bolt 8, so that the bolt 8 can be withdrawn to open the switch but cannot be replaced without using a key. |
