Zusammenfassung:6902. Moore, C. F. W. March 20. Chain guards. - A chain guard for cycles &c., of the kind in which a length of metal e of angle or channel section covers that part of the chain with which the trouser leg of the rider is liable to come in contact, is provided with a single point of attachment to the frame, so that the inclination of the guard may be adjusted. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the guard e carries a slotted bracket d, which is secured to a clip f near the bottom bracket of the cycle by a screw d'. On loosening the screw the guard may be adjusted both as to height and inclination. In a modification, Fig. 4, the guard e is provided with a screw-threaded arm or shank k, which is adjustably mounted in a clip l and secured in position by a set-screw p and nuts n. The inclination of the guard can be altered by loosening the set-screw, and horizontal or vertical adjustment can be obtained by loosening the nuts n. In a further modification, Fig. 6, the screw-threaded arm k is attached to a slotted plate r carried by the guard; this permits longitudinal adjustment.
