Composition fuel.-A binder for anthracite or other non-bituminous fuel briquettes consists of an oxychloride combined with bitumen, bitumen and starch, or other coking component. A typical composition consists of 100 parts by weight of anthracite, 2À5 parts of magnesium oxide, 1À07 parts of calcium or magnesium chloride, 3À57 parts of water, and 1 part of bitumen. Pitch, dextrine, glue, white of egg, or casein may form part of the binder, but mineral and vegetable oils are excluded. According to the Provisional Specification, the non-bituminous fuel may be coke, and the binder may contain ozokerit.
