Filaments; filaments, supports for; b u l b s ; making lamps. - In a flat lamp, a filament is wound in grooves in studs h, Fig. 1, attached to one face, or on hooks carried by such studs or by a rib v, Fig. 7, on the lamp. Double hooks w, Fig. 9, may be used, the filamentlengths being parallel. The lamp shown in Fig. 1 has a polished glass cover b, and a hole, for exhausting, closed by a polished plug c. Modified constructions are sealed at one end and made as a bulb, without a cover. Fig. 7 shows a lamp with one face made reflecting. The lamps may be used in signalling. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) comprises also the following. (1) A flat lamp with a filament wound in one plane on hooks on a frame. The bulb is inserted in an end-piece attached to the cap. (2) A lamp of ordinary pear shape having one filament wound between double hooks at each end of an axial stem, and another wound in one plane across the lamp between hooks radiating from the end of the stem. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
