The end of the handle e is provided with a hard file-like surface d of convex form in the direction of length and located obliquely relatively to the axis of the handle, and the tip f of the surface is smooth to form a burnisher. The smooth and file surfaces may be on a plate a, Fig. 1, or cap fitted to the handle end; or the file surface may be on a plate a, Fig. 9, attached to a smooth-ended base-plate g on the handle e; or a solid end-piece with suitable surfaces may be fixed on the handle. The lines of cut in the file surface are oblique, curved, or zigzag. |
