Pressure filters. - Vertical apparatus of the screw-conveyer type as described in Specification 1024/64 is provided with screws 32 and the like by means of which the two parts 2, 3 of the container can be moved apart for inspection or renewal of the filtering-medium and the drum 33, which carries the conveyer blade 8, is made to taper upwards, the material being passed downwards through the apparatus. The drum 33 may be of pottery, and may be perforated.
