Moulds for reinforced concrete beams are formed by boards a, Fig. 4, placed edgeways and spaced apart by end pieces b within which are arranged sheet-metal cores d having loose, overlapping ends r, s, Fig. 9, carried by the sides e, f, Fig. 7, and fitted with members t, u, coupled by a rod g, by which the cores may be expanded or contracted. The cores are correctly positioned by means of flanges 2, 3, abutting against the mould sides, and are arranged end to end as shown in Fig. 2, so as to produce a beam consisting of an open trough having closed end walls 4 and a series of equidistant cross webs 5.
