3204. Fabian, G. Feb. 9. Respirators. - Relates to a combined firehelmet and inflatable waterproof coat of the kind used to protect the wearer from the heat of a fire by a layer of air. The discharge of air supplied to the helmet A, Fig. 1, and coat G is controlled as desired, by adjustment of the waist-belt L, and the helmet is provided with an outer casing A, Fig. 4, and an inner casing B, the space between being in communication with the air-supply pipe C, Fig. 1, so that some of the air passes through such space and escapes through holes E at the top. A telephonic cable M has sufficient slack to enable one wire N' to be connected with a receiver N, and the other P with a transmitter P, capable of being fitted to the fireman before the helmet and coat are placed in position.
