Paddle-wheels.-A propeller especially applicable to aerial machines comprises adjustable entering blades and fixed trailing blades, all rotatively free of their driving-shaft. Fig. 1 shows an elevation, and Fig. 2 a plan of one form of the propeller. On the driving-shaft 1 are mounted loose arms 3, between which the entering blades 4 are clipped. These blades are weighted to balance the trailing blades 5 carried by the arms 3. Figs. 3 and 4 show modified arrangements of blades.
