Zusammenfassung:20,960. Eimann, P. Sept. 14. Burners, mounting dnd adjusting.-In apparatus for cutting or soldering metals by blowpipes along a curved path, a rail curved to the desired contour is clamped to the work, and the blowpipe is mounted on a carriage provided with wheels engaging projections or grooves in the sides of the rail. The rails 2 may be of lead or other soft metal, and the wheels 4 are vertically adjustable and horizontally pivoted, the wheel 5 being spring-mounted. The apparatus is propelled along the rail by means of a sharp toothed wheel 7 driven by toothed gearing from a flexible shaft ; this wheel 7 is mounted on a plate 10, which is pivoted at the end 11 to a lower plate 24 and adjustably spring-held at the other. The plate 24 from which the wheel 5 is carried moves in guides in the frame, and is pressed against the rail by a spring 29 ; uprights 31 are carried from this plate 24, in which slides the frame 32 carrying the blowpipe. The flexible shaft may be driven by a hand gear clamped to a suitable abutment. To operate upon a number of pieces of work of the same contour, the soft rail may be replaced by an iron rail with a top groove into which a band of soft metal is pressed.
