Zusammenfassung: | 17,511. Johnson, A. G. Kent-. July 28. Reel and web apparatus. - Relates to apparatus for displaying pictures, notices, in which a number of parallel rollers are supported in endless tracks, a display-blind being attached to each roller and to a lath, carried by a preceding roller, and means being provided for unrolling and displaying the blind, and consists in providing the rollers with toothed wheels and racks, which may be built up in sections, for winding up the blinds. The forward end of each blind may be passed round a lath e, Figs. 2 and 4, carried by a roller c by means of loose pendent arms, and held by the jaws of a tube 3, gripped tightly by one or more tube-pieces 5. A cam o, Fig. 2, on a travelling chain m strikes a spring- controlled lever 1, Figs. 2 and 6, and withdraws a rod 6, pushing forward the rod 5 and liberating a roller 8. The cam o passes by the recently liberated roller and carries upwards the roller c from the foot of the racks. The toothed wheels of the rising roller engage the racks and wind the displayed band up, while the band of the succeeding roller is unwound and displayed. A spring detent u prevents the rollers from falling back again. |
