Zusammenfassung: | 11,450. Ash, W. B., and Stevenson, E. R. May 14. Drawings to Specification. Paper tubes. - Tubes made from wood-pulp boards &c. such as straw-boards, card boards, and paper, are rendered tough and impervious to moisture by soaking them for several hours in raw linseed oil, drying, stoving them at a temperature of about 350‹ F., and finally enamelling, varnishing, japanning, or otherwise ornamenting them. The tubes may be ornamented by embossing, stencilling, inlaying, &c., and they may be provided with suitable strengthening-cores of wood, metal, &c. They may be used as outer protective or ornamental coverings for the metallic tubular parts of bedsteads and cots &c., thereby preventing rusting. |
