Zusammenfassung: | 4787. Redrup, C. B., and Richards, W. A. Feb. 26. Four-stroke-cycle engines.-The invention consists in adapting the engine described in Specification 27,285/05, to aerial and marine propulsion and also in modifications of the admission and lubricating mechanism described in Specifications 15,347/08 and 27,596/08. In the engine shown in Fig. 1, both the cylinders and the crank-shaft revolve, propellers for aerial or marine propulsion being mounted on one or both sides of the motor, as desired. Combustible mixture is admitted to the crank chamber through a pair of ports, one of which is shown at d; these register with a port c in a stationary casting a held in contact with a facing b by a spring f. Lubricating-oil, which is forced through a passage i in the shaft i, enters through a port k in a rotating fitting k which bears against a stationary collar h opening into a supply pipe j. |
