Zusammenfassung: | 27,019. Barsby, W. J. Dec. 12. Motor road vehicles.-In supports for motorbicycles the footboards a, hinged at their front end to a horizontal transverse bar or tube b upon the frame, are held in their normal raised position by means of springs and are provided on the underside with castor wheels or rollers e to make contact with the ground when the footboards are depressed, transverse displacement of the boards being prevented by means of guides i on the boards engaging vertical bars h fixed to the machine. The bars h are secured to a horizontal transverse member g, their lower ends being braced or connected by a cross tube or bar (not shown). For retaining the supports in operative position, sleeves j upon rods are adapted to be turned by handles l to bring projections k into engagement with the guides i. Means may also be provided to lock each footboard in its raised position, while other means, such as a stop, upon the footboard or the frame may be used to hold the footboards when lowered. As shown, the springs are arranged at the hinges q of the footboards. According to the Provisional Specification, (1) means for fixing the footboards at their lowest, normal, or other point may be provided ; (2) for raising each board or keeping it in the raised position, a spring or the like is attached thereto and to the frame ; (3) to hold each board at its lowest point, a rod pivoted to the board is adapted to be swung beneath a stop or cross-piece. |
