Zusammenfassung: | 26,544. Johnson, E. W., and Prestwich, R. J. Dec. 8. Loom shuttle guards.-Relates to improvements in the invention described in Specification No. 6884, A.D. 1907, and to that type of shuttle guard wherein rigid connexions are employed to raise the guard at each beat-up and to raise it out of action when the loom is stopped. The shuttle guard comprises rods a, b fixed to brackets c on a rod or shaft d, which is rocked in bearings e on the lay-cap f by lever mechanism g, h, i, k, the pivot j of the lever i being carried by a lever o which is normally held stationary. Owing to the lost motion between the parts hand k, the shaft d is rocked and the shuttle guard raised so that the rod b may clear the temple at each beat-up. The lever o, pivoted on a stud o on the loom frame, has a bracket o which has an inclined slot o and angle-slot o . When the strap fork u is moved to stop the loom, a leverp pivoted at p to a bracket on the loom frame is thrust upwards by lever mechanism t, s, r , r, so that a stud on the lever p slides out of the slot o and along the slot o . The lever o is thus rocked to the left, and raises the shuttle guard sufficiently high to give free access to the shuttle. |
