Zusammenfassung: | 14,837. Huet, L. H. July 13. Kinematographs.-Relates to a kinematograph of the disk type with the pictures arranged spirally or in circles. In the apparatus for taking the pictures, all the mechanism is mounted on a plate a provided with an aperture a . The disk s, Fig. 6, has a spiral series of holes, the intervals between which are equal to the travel of the operating-stud b. The intermittent rotation is obtained by giving the stud b a rectilinear reciprocating motion through a slide b , a connecting-rod b , and a crank disk c ; a cam c' presses the stud into the perforations during the motion in one direction. The translation of the disk is obtained by giving the stud b a slight motion at right-angles to this previous motion through an inclined groove a . The crank disk c is carried on a shaft d, which is driven from a shaft g through a wheel f, pawl f , and ratchet g . To the driving-shaft g is also attached one end of a spiral spring, the other end of which is hooked on to a fixed pillar h ; a a key i is used for winding-up the spring. The toothed wheel f also operates through a loose sleeve k a centrifugal governor j, which engages frictionally with a fixed shaft a when a sufficiently high speed is reached. The sleeve k also carries a disk k , on which a brake lever m can act when the movement of the stud is to be stopped. During the period of movement, a lever m is held back by a pawl n engaging with a projection m ; the release of this pawl is effected by a disk o, which rotates once while the disk s is fully traversed once and operates on the pawl by a stud o . Each disk s is mounted in a sheath t, fig. 6, and a clip t engages the portion to be exposed through a gap t ; a slide t engages with a gudgeon s , to guide the disk as it is moved by the stud b. A somewhat similar device is used for exhibiting the pictures obtained, means being provided for returning the disk to its original position at the end of the travel. When the pictures are arranged in circles, the slide a is not inclined. |
