Water - tube boilers ; feed - water, supplying.- Boilers of the type described in Specifications Nos. 5832 and 18,095, A.D. 1906, are fitted with a feed-distributing pipe 0, passing into the steam and water drum and provided with nozzles P, which direct the feed into the down-comers. According to the Provisional Specification, the headers may be cylindrical or partly cylindrical instead of rectangular in section, and may be formed with flats where the tubes are to be fixed. Some of the generating-tubes may be slightly curved to facilitate the withdrawal or insertion through the usual band-holes. A diaphragm, tube, or channel may be fitted in each header to convey the steam and water from the bottom rows of tubes direct to the steam space. A superheater, consisting of a section of tubes and headers corresponding to a generating section, is located at the side of the boiler.
