Zusammenfassung: | 18,317. Lock, W. H., [Toronto Type Foundry Co.]. Aug, 13. Linotype machines.-In order to facilitate change of the magazine, a track 13 is secured at one end to the machine frame and at the other to a standard 10 behind the machine. Upon the track runs a carriage 14 which is steadied by a rod 15 passing between two grooved rollers 16, 17 carried by a swivelling frame 18. A hook 21 depending from the carriage is adapted to engage a bail 22 pivoted to brackets on the sides of the magazine. The magazine is raised and moved rearwards to disengage it from the frame by arms 8 or a cam actuated by a hand-lever 5. The bail 22 is then placed over the hook 21, and the carriage is moved along the track until the magazine is adjacent to a frame 11 rotatably mounted on the standard 10 and having slots which recaive hooks 4 on the magazine. In the form shown, the frame 11 is triangular and is adapted for three magazines. The magazine to be changed is lifted off the hook 21 and suspended from the frame 11. A second magazine 12 is then lifted off the frame 11 on to the hook 21, and is moved into position on the machine frame. According to the Provisional Specification, the rod 15 may be guided in a swivelled sleeve or may be of telescopic construction. |
