Zusammenfassung: | 12,526. Cooper, C. H., and Cooper, D. May 30. Chimney tops.- One side c of the lower, rectangular portion is inclined so as to leave an opening e, and contain a plate f, pivoted behind the opening e, and supported by stops i, so as to leave a narrow space between the plate f and a fixed baffle k projecting from the opposite side. Down - draught is thus deflected through the opening e, while wind entering this opening will induce updraught. The stops i may be formed integral with the sides of the pot, or may be adjustable in position. A baffle m may also be provided above the fixed baffle k. When desired the upper portion b, which may be of circular cross-section, may be formed separate from the lower portion of the pot and connected by a spigot-and-socket or flanged joint. |
