The supply of solder is regulated by a valve h mounted in dovetail grooves and operated by a lever k pivoted on the gas-supply pipe g. A spring-pressed block q presses the valve against the casing, and so ensures tight closing. A valve r with holes s is arranged between the reservoir d and the bit, and by its means the heat transmitted to the reservoir is regulated.
