Meters.-The speed of rotation of the measuring- drum A of a gas-meter is controlled or regulated by means of a second and hermetically sealed drum B carried by the same spindle. The drum B is divided by radial partitions into eight equal compartments D , D , D and contains oil or other liquid which flows from one compartment to another through holes H in the partitions. A pressure regulator is placed between the measuring-drum and the source of the gas supply. Instead of a separate drum, paddles, buckets, or the like may be attached to the measuring-drum itself.
