Zusammenfassung:11,188. Clologe, J. B. H. May 17, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Timing pigeons. -Relates to a pigeon-timing clock of the type in which the chronometer is started by the introduction of the usual ring. The main object of the invention is to prevent the fraudulent acceleration of the chronometer by oscillation. The chronometer is secured to a disk P, which is free to rotate upon a pin R fixed to the lower part A of the case. A pin U, on the underside of the disk P, engages a forked lever L, which is pivoted at M and is acted on by a spring O. A sector H, pivoted upon the pin R, is provided with a receptacle Z, which coincides with a hole G in the base A and is held against the action of a spring K by a catch V. The ring having been placed in the receptacle Z, the catch V is released and the sector H rotates, thus setting free the lever L from a pin Y fixed to the sector H. The lever L then turns upon its pivot. M under the action of the spring O, and, by reason of its engagement with the pin U, causes the disk P to rotate. A brake S, which has held the balance-wheel of the chronometer, strikes the receptacle Z, and releases the movement. The lever, L engages a projection E on the sector H, and prevents its return to the former position. The chronometer being free to rotate about the pin R, any attempt to accelerate it by oscillation will be frustrated. The parts are covered by a casing, which may be sealed &c. to the base A.
