Check valves; dirt, preventing lodgment of. - A valve for pneumatic tyres &c. consists of a long cup c of india-rubber, which is preferably cylindrical outside and conical inside, arranged in a tube b screwing into a flanged tube a connected to the tyre. The valve is held in place by a shoulder b inside the tube b, and by a perforated plug d which screws into the tube, and the plug d may carry a stem for preventing end movement of the valve. The tube b is screwthreaded to receive a pump or a dust-cap e.
