Zusammenfassung: | 449. Lockwood, T. P., and Potts, F. Jan. 8. Making files.-Instead of driving the feed screw of a file-dutting machine by a ratchetwheel and lever or by a belt from the cam shaft F, it is driven by sprocket gearing, one chain H driving the wheel P, on the shaft of which is also a wheel O, which by means of a second chain rotates a clutch shaft D carried by a bracket and connected by bevel-gear with the feed screw. The intermediate wheels O, P, which are replaceable according to the speed of the feed motion required, are carried by a shaft secured in a straight slot N in a bracket L, which is carried by the shaft D and fixed in any position by a segmental slot M and nut K to a pillar projecting from the side of the bed B, on which the travelling bed slides. A clutch motion may be applied to the wheel G. |
