Hand - tools.-A stone dressing chisel has a diamond or double wedgeshaped cutter a which can be reversed when one edge is blunt or a different type of cutter is required. The cutter a is pressed chequered, as shown in Fig. 3, forming shoulders d to bear against the handle head b and prevent the sharp edge a' from coming in contact with it. The end of the handle head is shaped, as shown in Fig. 5, to correspond to the depressions or projections on the cutter and prevent it from slipping out sideways. Fig. 6 shows a modification for a narrow chisel. The Provisional Specification states that the handle may be of malleable cast iron.
