Zusammenfassung: | 18,085. Ashworth, E. Sept. 7. Guards.-The panels of carding-engine framework and particularly those about the " taker-in " are locked while the engine is running and cannot be removed without the carding-engine being first stopped. The side shaft a for stopping or starting the card as described in Specification No. 19,036, A.D. 1904, gears with a cross-shaft c by bevelgearing e, d. The cross-shaft carries levers f, h which lock the panels g, k while the carding-engine is running. In place of the cross shaft, a sliding rod l may be submitted, the position of the levers r, h, q, when the carding-engine is stopped, being shown in dotted lines. In another modification, a rocking lever, operated from the shaft a by an eccentric, carries the locking-pieces, and is arranged so that the same results are obtained. |
