Zusammenfassung: | 17,614. Benham, R. M. Aug. 31. Umbrellas &c. combined with tyre-inflating pumps. A sunshade, umbrella, &c., is so combined with a cycle or similar vehicle tyre-inflating pump that, when not required, the umbrella &c. may be inserted in the piston-rod b, while, when in use, the piston-rod and pump barrel are extended to form a mount therefor. The stick of the umbrella carries a plug e adapted to be connected to the rod b by a bayonet or similar joint, the plug being provided with a pair of folding handles f kept down by a button g. To use the umbrella &c., the button is removed, the plug withdrawn from the piston-rod and re-inserted with the umbrella outside, and the piston-rod drawn out and suitably held extended, the barrel being clipped to the machine. A spring may be provided to keep the handles vertical when the button is released. According to the Provisional Specification, the umbrella stick is pivoted to the plug. |
