Zusammenfassung: | 16,654. Mulholland, R. Nov. 17, 1904, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic, attaching to rim. The elastic tyre 3, having a circumferential hollow 6, is secured on the rim 2 by means of one or more channelled retaining-bands 7 and radial bolts 11 with heads engaging the bands 7. The tyre and retaining-bands may be in sections, and the ends of the bands are riveted to projections 9 formed on a plate (or plates) 8, Fig. 9, also formed with transversely wedge-shaped projections 10 to prevent relative creeping between the tyre and the retaining-bands. In a modification, one retaining- band is used, its ends being joined by an elongated plate which is formed with a screwed shank adapted to replace the bolts 11. Creeping is prevented by the bolts 11 and screws passed radially through the felloe and rim into the tyre. The rim 2 is secured on the felloe 1 by radial bolts seated flush in countersunk holes in the rim. |
