Zusammenfassung:13,608. Lievens, P., and Jahn, G. July 1. Locks. permutation, for bags &c, To one side of the bag is secured the casing 1. the top-plate of which is provided with the longitudinal slots 2, each having on one side a projection 3. Slidably mounted on the casing 1 is the plate 4 provided with keyhole slots with the narrow parts of which the projections 3 on the casing engage. Through the circular part 6 of each of these slots passes the hub 7 of a rotatable disk 8, which is notched at 9 and adapted to receive the projection 3 on the casing when the parts are as shown in Fig. 3. The hubs 7 are connected in the casing 1 by the plate 10 against which presses the spring 11 secured to each hub by a washer 12, to prevent the disks 8 from moving accidentally. Each of the hubs 7 is formed internally with a polygonal crosssection to receive a similarly-shaped pin 13, provided with a milled head 14, and a nut 16 for securing it in place. The heads 14 are provided with letters &c. corresponding to the flat sides of the pins 13. The plate 10 is provided with downwardly-projecting pieces 19, which partially cover holes 21 made in the casing and are adapted to engage catch-pieces on the other side of the bag inserted in the holes 21. Assuming the bag to be locked, to unlock it, the disk 8 must be turned until the notches 9 are in their correct positions for engagements with the projections, as indicated by the known:combination of letters, and then, by means of the knobs 14, the locking bar 10 can be shifted to the left out of engagement with the catch-pieces, the bar 10 returning to its original position under the action of a spring, when released. In order to retain the bar in its unlocked position, one of the disks 8 is provided with a circular notch 22 extending out of the notch 9, so as to engage with the corresponding projection 3, as shown in Fig. 6. The combination can easily be changed by removing the nuts 16 and inserting the pins in a different position in the hubs 7.
