8709. Noyes, J. G. April 25. Hooks.-Arms supported horizontally for drying clothes can also be placed vertically and serve to support hats and coats. The arms 33 are supported by metal holders 28, which are removably attached to a frame 21 by means of shanks 29, 31, shoulders 30, and hooks 32. The shank 31 passes through a bole 27 in the sloping lug 26, and, when the rail is horizontal for drying clothes, the shoulder 30 engages with the loop 24 formed above the lug 26. To convert the article into a hat and coat rack, the shoulder is disengaged and the rail swung into the vertical position, the hook 32 then engaging with the bar 25. Each arm is provided with a hat hook 34, which then becomes horizontal.
