Zusammenfassung: | 7939. Botterill, J. April 14. Elevated railways ; rope railways. - Relates to endless - track conveyers or elevators for conveying goods, parcels, &c. in an horizontal, vertical, or slanting direction, and also ronnd curves. In one form, shown in elevation in Fig. 1, the track X is formed of bar iron of rectangular section, supported on brackets &c. with its narrow edge upwards. The carriages are provided with a double set of flanged rollers, engaging the upper and lower edges of the track. Each carriage is fixed to an endless chain P, which is driven by sprocket-wheels on one side of the track. Power may be applied through worm or other gearing. One of the sprocket-wheel bearings is mounted to slide so that the tension of the chain may be adjusted. In a modification, the vehicles move in an approximately horizontal plane. |
